My Grandmother collected items from antique furniture, Staffordshire dogs, Kuan Yin statues, snuff jars, to turn of the century Valentines and antique fans. I used to go with her while she lectured on the language of fans. Some of her fans were given away, others kept by family. I received a box of the fragile broken ones, managing to mend a few. With others, I made earrings with the ribs, sticks and guards and used the paper for collage. The Fan Collages are the last of the last of my Grandmother’s fans.

straddles the introduction of digital formatting of the time.
