LIFE ON HOLD charcoal over a fine art print edition ©2009 A series of 36 works on paper (28"x 26" or 26"x28") created in Fall/Winter of 2009, using charcoal, water, and chalk (sometimes gesso) with gesso around the edges. The paper, Arches hot press, is the same repurposed art edition that I used in the Wonderscapes. The design underneath these works is a montage of previous work made from color copies of slides. Life On Hold sits on top of several generations of my own history. This body of work was completely satisfying. It represents a very clear voice and interpretation of how I digest the world. It captures a shift and became a series that caused me to make a firm declaration. This series is wrapped up and put away in storage labeled "Not of Sale." Declarations are nothing; holding true to them is the ticket that moves me forward and builds not only character, but also a unique path to uphold. The series is called "Life on hold" as a play on this.
