Found items, souvenirs, mementos, and family heirlooms have been collected over the years since the age of four. These items have influenced my story, My Gamma Waves, and are part of an installation called The Fane. The Fane is a sanctuary, still and silent, that unites art and items in a way that provides missing links. I am inspired by the daring vison found in the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, the Studiolo of Francesco I, the Amber Room and the sanctuary I visited inside the rock of Mt. Sinia along with other far to reach monasteries hidden among cliffs.
As an artist my role is to find a selection based on relationships and to reference and cross pollinate to create meaning. My idea is lofty and possibly unattainable in this life, but intent is pure in longing to meld the divisions placed between life and art.
