Painting from observation using seeds and vegetables. Assorted hot peppers found at the food store. Many changed color as they aged and ripen to full maturity. The sutble changes are captured each day. Seeds were cast about on a small radius of white paper. The raw canvas is stained with an oil paint wash and with scumbling the impression of the stretcher is brought forth. The background color is selected to mimic the particular vegetable grown from that seed.
