Teacups collected for Reading Tea Leaves, an installation in progress. Visit Anatomy of an Idea to learn more. I collected teacups, made in porcelain, fine, and bone china, from 10/10/10 through the winter of 2014. I purchased them in thrift stores and some were gifted to me. In exchange for a teacup I give a matted sketch from one of my sketchbooks. My goal of 300 teacups was reached December 19, 2014. Next the insides of each teacup were painted and flecked with gold leaf. Each teacup was secured to their saucer with a hook attached to the back. Reading Tea Leaves needs text in order to be completed. 300 prayers, typed on tags with an old typewriter, in underway.
